Perryville High School will be the host school when the Southeast District of the Missouri Association of Student Councils holds their district convention on November 8, 2011. "As the President school of the Southeast District, our job is to host the district convention," said PHS STUCO Sponsor Brent Broeking. "We already have 40 schools and about 1200 people signed up to attend, but we expect a few more. The convention will be held at the Perry Park Center here in Perryville."
The theme for the convention is baseball and the slogan for the convention is "MLB - Making Leaders Better." "The guest speaker will be former Cardinal great, Jack Clark," said Broeking, "and the State of Missouri Speaker of the House, Rep. Dr. Steven Tilley, will also be presenting a short message."
In addition to planning the day's activities, Perryville High School will get to showcase their students. "Our chamber choir, jazz band and cheerleaders will be performing," said Broeking. "This is a big undertaking and we are excited for the challenge of putting this all together and showing what a great school Perryville High School really is."
