What, if anything, would you do to restore public trust in the coroner's office as a result of the felony financial exploitation conviction of former coroner Herbert Miller?

The Perry County coroner's office (3rd class county) is to investigate deaths by homicide, suicide, or accident including criminal abortions, unattended deaths and deaths that are unusual and suspicious in nature along with in custody deaths according to Missouri State Statute 58.451.1. The previous and current coroner have had no investigative training or experience. As a retired law enforcement officer, I would be bringing over 30 years of training, experience and professionalism to the office.

What attributes do you bring to the job of coroner?

I started at the Cape Girardeau Police Department in 1983 and retired in 2013.I started in Patrol Division, then evidence technician, Special Response Team, Narcotics Division and Detective Division while also serving for 16 years on the Cape/Bollinger County Major case squad investigating homicides and suspicious deaths.I then worked for the U.S. Army training and supervising an undercover police unit in Nangahar Province in Afghanistan. I currently work part time for a private investigation firm.
