It has been almost two years since Oran has experienced the tragic losses of two teens, Alexis "Lexi" Cummins and Austin "Tut" Todt. They were involved in an automobile wreck which resulted in the loss of their lives. Family and friends have again joined together to host the 2nd Annual Memorial Run/Walk for Lexi and Tut. The proceeds of the event will go to support the Memorial Scholarship funds that have been set up in their memory. The race will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 9:00 a.m., with registration beginning at 8:00 a.m. The race starts and ends at the Oran High School parking lot. Pre-registration is $20 and registration on race day will be $25. Contact Stacey Starnes at (573) 225-3125 or Crystal Todt (573) 887-1396 or email ctodt@oran.k12.mo.us. The timing will be done by the Cape Roadrunners. Trophies will be awarded to the top overall Male and Female participating in the 5K and medals to the top 3 males and females in each age group. Age groups are 19 and younger, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, and 50+. This race is a way to keep the memory of these yound people alive in the hearts of their family, friends, and community and had a phenominal turnout last year. Their lives were lost, but they will never be forgotten.
