The Boys & Girls Club of Cape Girardeau, in partnership with the City of Cape Girardeau Parks & Recreation Department, will be hosting an Open House on Thursday, October 20, 2011, from 3:30pm-5:30pm at the Shawnee Park Center.
The event is a nationwide initiative held annually to celebrate and showcase the importance of afterschool programs to our youth and communities.
New to this year's program is the addition of the Shawnee Rising Stars. An afterschool program held daily at the Shawnee Center which serves 65-75 youth. This year's event is scheduled to include guest speakers, food & beverages, and displays created by our youth.

Located at 1913 Whitener Street, the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Girardeau has served the youth of Cape Girardeau for over 10 years. New to the Club is the partnership formed with the City of Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department. The Club provides programs for more than 150 boys and girls in the areas of character and leadership development; educational enhancement; career preparation; health and life skills; the arts; and sports, fitness and recreation.
