Oak Ridge FBLA Rocks!!

District 15 FBLA competition was held Feb. 16 at Southeast Missouri State University, which consists of 12 area schools with 412 students total. Oak Ridge FBLA had over 30 members competing. The following members qualify for State Competition April 24-26 in Springfield: Ashely Lemonds 1st Business Calculations and 4th Personal Finance, Jessica Hahs 2nd Business Calculations, Zack Moore, 4th Computer Problem Solving, Jordan Gilliland 4th Cyber Security, Maci Schamburg 5th Economics, Sky Miller 3rd Economics, Kaitlyn Shallow 3rd Health Care Administration and 6th in Personal Finance*, Autum Schumer 4th Health Care Administration, Nathan Bolin, 4th Insurance and Risk Management, Connor Bock Introduction to Business Communication 5th, Brianna Amschler 1st Introduction to Business Procedures, Caroline Abner 4th Introduction to Business Procedures. The following students placed but did not qualify for State: (performance events need to place 1st to qualify) Olivia Ruiz 3rd Spreadsheet Applications, 4th Computer Applications, Katie Oehl 2nd Computer Applications and 2nd Spreadsheet Applications, Jessica Hahs and Madison LeGrand 2nd Publication Design, Tessa Mangels, Ashley Lemonds, and Kaitlyn Shallow 4th Social Media Campaign, Jessica Hahs, Jordan Layton, and Jordan Barker 3rd Sports and Entertainment Management. Carline Abner and Kaitlyn Cater Intro to Business Presentation, 2nd .* Since our FBLA District 15 as a whole did very well in Personal Finance, we are awarded a wild card, which enable us to send the 6th place member, who happened to be our own Kaitlyn Shallow. Oak Ridge has qualified students for state competition the last 10 years under the leadership of their adviser, Sarah Hansen.
