Gather to hear the incredible true stories of gifted storyteller and retired history professor, Dr. Frank Nickell, on Saturday, Oct. 5, 11 a.m., at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center. Nickell's wit and love for the past bring the rich and diverse history of "Swampeast Missouri" to life.

"Nickell has a fabulous mind and is great at giving perspective and insight on the natural resources in the Southeast area," said Steven Juhlin, assistant manager of the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center. "Even SEMO history buffs learn something new when they hear what Frank has to say about the region. He not only has a command of a massive amount of information, his delivery is captivating."

During this event, the Nature Center will feature exhibits highlighting the history of how people historically used the area's natural resources to survive and how those traditions continue today.
