New Salem United Methodist Womens unit

The New Salem UMW met November 2, 2015 at 6:00pm for their annual Thanksgiving supper with spouses and visitors present.

After the meal Joyce Brewer, President, called the meeting to order with 13 members answering roll call with, "What I'm Thankful For".

We had 15 sick-shut-in calls for the month of October.

Five members attend the County-wide UMW gathering at Grace United Methodist Church.

Our unit made the chili for the church wide Fall Festival on October 24.

Joyce Brewer attended the Fall Meeting in Sikeston on October 17.

Our unit and church have collected funds to send to the Festival of Sharing for the Heifer Project.

Officers for the coming year was approved and installation will be at the December meeting.

Our members are going to send Christmas cards to the Wounded Veterans at Walter Reed Hospital.

Shirley Grebe presented the World Thank Offering program "The Blessings of Giving".

Our next meeting will be our Christmas Party, with spouses and pastor and wife as guests, at a Jackson Restaurant.
