JOHN'S RX, A DIVISION OF JOHN'S PHARMACY IS THE FIRST LONG TERM CARE PHARMACY IN THE REGION TO OFFER NEXT-GENERATION DISPENSING AUTOMATION
DOSIS L60 Automates Dispensing, Increasing Accuracy and Efficiency
With State-of-the-Art Technology.
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO October 2011 -- John's Rx is a division of John's Pharmacy dedicated to servicing nursing homes and other long-term care facilities. They are one of the largest nursing home providers in Cape Girardeau.
Last year, John's Pharmacy became the first independent retail pharmacy in Cape Girardeau to install Parata Max, the leading technology for automating dispensing with high speed and accuracy. This robot automates dispensing and improves accuracy and efficiency in their retail pharmacy.
John's RX now offers similar dispensing technology. They are the only pharmacy in the region to offer state-of-the-art automated blister card dispensing. The DOSIS L60 fully automates the dispensing of oral solids (e.g., pills, tablets, capsules). The machine selects a blister card, counts the right number of the right medication and strength, accurately places each pill in the right blister for each day, seals and labels the card for each resident. All of this is done in a fraction of the time it takes to complete the same steps by hand and makes prescription errors less likely.
This technology will also benefit their retail customers who request to have their medications dispensed in blister cards rather than bottles.
"It's an investment in the future of our pharmacy, and reflects our commitment to the highest standards of patient health and safety," says John McMullin RPh, President / Owner.
"John's Pharmacy's investment in DOSIS L60 is a great example of leveraging technology to do what it does best -- perform repetitive tasks quickly and accurately -- so that people can do what they do best -- offer personal service to assist our long term care facilities with their medication needs. DOSIS L60 is next-generation technology that automates dispensing with 100 percent accuracy for drug and strength, and counts pills far more accurately than manual counting."
"At John's Pharmacy, we built our business on providing fast, personalized service and high-quality patient care, but like many pharmacies in America today, we have more people taking more medications. DOSIS L60 helps us work smarter, not harder, allowing us to focus on the service and care the residents at our facilities receive," McMullin
