CASA OF SOUTHEAST MISSOURI ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBERS
Board Members to Participate in CASA's Cowboy Casanova Country
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Missouri, September 12, 2011 - Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Southeast Missouri, a local volunteer organization which provides juvenile justice advocacy for abused and neglected
children in Missouri's 32nd Judicial Circuit, has announced several new board members.
New board members are: Julie Metzger of Cape Girardeau, who heads the Social Work Department at Southeast Hospital; Donna Lichtnegger of Jackson, State Representative from the 157th District of Missouri; and Cody Windbigler also of Jackson, who is the School Patrol Resource Officer for the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department.
CASA board members are selected on the basis of the candidate's personal and professional background, interest and image in the community. New board members participate in an orientation about CASA. Board members provide governance and ensure that CASA has sufficient financial resources to fufill its mission. They personally participate in and contribute to CASA events and projects.
The public is invited to join CASA board members at CASA's Cowboy Casanova Country event held on
September 24. Cowboy Casanova Country is CASA's major annual fundraiser. The outdoor event will feature an informal western theme. Guest will enjoy food, drinks and music and be able to bid on spectacular trips, jewelry and art in a live auction. Call the CASA's office 335-1726 for tickets.
