Mary Bauer, representing Jackson, competed in the Miss Missouri pageant held June 11, 1011 on the Missouri Military Acadamy campus in Mexico, Missouri and was chosen second runner-up.

In addition to the $3000 scholarship awarded to the second runner up, Mary Bauer received additional scholarships as a preliminary Talent and Evening Gown winner, Commerce Bank

Community Service Award, and the Miss Missouri Leadership Award in memory of Marybeth Williams (long time Miss Jackson Director and Miss Missouri Pageant Volunteer).

Mary was also recognized with the Miracle Maker Award, as she raised over $4000 for the Children's Miracle Network, which has partnered with the Miss America Organization to

raise funds and awareness for children's hospitals throughout the United States.
