A milestone was celebrated for Tillie Boswell on May 17, 2014. She turned 90 years young! An Art Song recital was held at Old St. Vincent's Church in Cape Girardeau. Her grandson, Aaron Schnurbusch, sang while being accompanied by Matt Yount. The celebration continued with an open house at her daughter's house, Linda Reutzel. Over 60 friends and family attended. Out of town guests traveled from New York, Texas, Florida, North Carolina and as far away as Sweden. Tillie's foreign exchange student from 1984, Pelle Errikson and his wife, Marie, and their three beautiful children, Louisa, Emma and Julia attended.
Tillie was born in Portageville, but has lived in Cape Girardeau since high school. She continues to enjoy attending church, playing bridge and walking the track at St. Francis Fitness Center.
The event was put on by her sons, Ralph, Mike(Leslie), Terry(Cindy) and Tom Schnurbusch and her daughter Linda(Gene) Reutzel.
