Cape Girardeau, Mo. -- Natalie DuBois, of Cape Girardeau, was recently promoted to specialist in the 1140th Forward Support Engineer Battalion.
DuBois has served in the Missouri National Guard for a year and was surprised to receive the promotion so soon.
"I didn't think it would happen as soon as it did," said DuBois. "But I am very excited and ready to show my unit what I can do. I'm so grateful for the chance and encouragement to make me be a better Soldier."
1st Sgt. Haskel Rooker was impressed with DuBois' work ethic and was proud to promote such a deserving Soldier.
"She's a good Soldier," said Rooker. "She has a fantastic attitude and is willing to complete any task given to her. She has a lot of potential in her military career and life."
DuBois is the daughter of Pierre and Beckey Dubois, of Cape Girardeau. She is a graduate of Jackson High School and is currently attending Metro Business College. She lives and works in Cape Girardeau.
