Sophia Smith, a member of the SEMO Mudcats Mountain Bike Team recently won the Missouri Mountain Bike Championship at Two River Bike Park in Nixa, MO. Sophia, a 6th grader at Jackson Middle School, competed against 20 other racers from around the state of Missouri. Sophia won all 4 of the Missouri Interscholastic Cycling League's youth mountain bike races in Springfield, Jefferson City, Warsaw and Nixa. She is a member of the local SEMO Mudcats Mountain Bike Team that practices and rides at Klaus Park in Jackson. Sophia started riding bikes at age three and loves to ride trails with her parents all over the country. She loves to go fast and be in the woods. Her goal is to represent The Jackson Indians in the State Championship in a few years and race for an University.
