I am a qualified candidate for the Leopold School board because I can provide positive feedback for difficult choices. I am willing to devote my time and talents to meeting challenges that the school board will take on. If I am elected, I along with my fellow board members will make conscious decisions that will bring a positive future for the students, the community, and society.
The opportunities of the Leopold school district outweigh the challenges faced. Three top opportunities would be safety, teaching conditions, and academic performance. Leopold R-III provides a safe environment which in return has led to high attendance. Our student teacher ratio is close to 11:1. Our academic performance shows graduation percentages close to or it may be 100%. If elected, I plan to help keep these numbers consistent. Budgeting is probably one of our biggest challenges.
There's definitely an advantage to communication when living in a small town. There's always the chance that you will run into your constituent at the local grocery and be able to pass on the latest information if they have interest in what the school board is doing. However, there will topics that are not to be discussed to constituents and I plan to hold that as a top priority as well.
Safety, teaching conditions, academic/athletic performance as well as budgeting will be the top factors on which I will base my decisions as a school board member.
