Cape Girardeau, MO, July 13, 2009--The Kiwanis Club of Cape Girardeau is launching a membership drive to strengthen its base, and to encourage community and service-minded citizens to consider joining the organization, which works on community service projects, especially those that benefit children.

The Kiwanis Club of Cape Girardeau, a part of Kiwanis International has been working in Cape since 1942 and includes members from various walks and sectors of life.

"There is a growing interest, particularly among Baby Boomers, to give something back to children and to projects that improve the world and the communities where they live," said Michael Anders, president of the club.

"We want to attract more men and women to our work-community and child-directed service--and we know that their membership will help us make a difference that can last a lifetime," Anders added.
