Jenny Mae Duncan of Jackson, MO has been selected to perform this summer at the St. Louis Municipal (Muny) Opera as a member of the cast of The Little Mermaid. Performances of the "Mermaid" are scheduled nightly July 6 through July 14. This is the second consecutive season for Jenny to be selected from hundreds who auditioned, having been selected to perform last summer at the Muny in Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

This group of 50 talented youngsters, ages 8 through 13, performs 30 shows throughout the summer at various St. Louis venues. The Muny Kids perform a professionally choreographed song and dance routine made up of numbers from each 2011 Muny production. Jenny receives her dance training from the Academy of Dance Arts in Cape Girardeau, and has taken voice training from Marlena Dudley, as well as performance training from Lara Teeter, head of the Webster University Conservatory's musical theater program in St. Louis.

Jenny, a Jackson R-2 student, is the nine-year-old daughter of Sam and Melanie Duncan, and is the granddaughter of Jim and Earline Lawrence of Campbell and S.R. and Barbara Duncan of Jackson. Jenny has always loved dancing and singing and being on stage; and feels it is neat that her tryout number was 93 for this, the 93rd season of the historic Muny Opera.
