Jackson R-2 School Board
Do you currently hold the office for which you are running? No
Lifelong resident of Jackson and trusted pharmacist in our community. A graduate of JHS Class of '89 and an Eagle Scout. I have three children in the district and I want to make sure they and their classmates are receiving a high quality, well rounded education. I have no hidden agendas, no axes to grind, I just want to see the excellence of education and activities continue in the Jackson School District.
Class size is an issue that is revisited year after year in the R-2 District. There are many variables that can affect class size so it requires a multi-faceted approach. We need to optimize the space we have and look at the alternatives we have for expanding. That being said, adding classrooms without adding staff does not fully address the issue. Jackson R-2 must include the community in finding fiscally responsible
solutions to this problem.
I will be an open and honest liaison between community, district staff, and the board. I want to see clubs/sports programs treated the same. I would like to see students more active in our community by volunteering or participating in service projects. They must give back to the community that supports them with tax dollars and opportunities. Finally, Jackson R-2 must provide relevant, evolving 21st century technology resources and ongoing training for students and staff.
