This year Jackson FBLA is hosting its second annual community service project, Downtown Dog Houses. FBLA officers Bailey Huff and Lainey Conklin organized a week long project that will take place Oct. 23 through 27. Downtown Dog Houses will create a co-partnership with Mac’s Mission, a local dog rescue in Jackson, Missouri.

The project will begin on Monday, Oct. 23, where members of FBLA are encouraged to bring items to help local animals in need. All items that are brought to the organization will help sick and malnourished animals. On Tuesday, Oct. 24, members will participate in walking dogs for Mac’s Mission. This activity allows Jackson FBLA members to be active along with helping the animals remain healthy and happy. Wednesday, Oct. 25, members will get the opportunity to wash animals for Mac’s Mission. On Thursday, Oct. 26, Jackson FBLA members will make dog treats with a local school organization, Jackson FCCLA, then they will deliver these treats to Mac’s Mission and the Humane Society of Cape Girardeau. Lastly, on Friday, Oct. 27, members will end the week by donating cheeseburgers to Mac’s Mission, and play with these animals that they will spend a whole week caring for.
