Uptown Jackson Revitalization Organization and the merchants in Jackson are hosting festive events on December 5 to celebrate the Christmas season. The theme of the parade is "Fairytale Christmas" and begins at 4:30 with additional events before and after the parade.
This year, the parade will start at the corner of West Main Street and Daisy Avenue and will travel up the hill to the courthouse and turning onto S. High Street, ending at Madison street. Get there early for a great seat! The Grand Marshall's Award, Mayor's Choice Award, and Uptown's Choice will be given to the top three floats.
Want to be a part of the parade, but don't have a float? Run in our pajama fun run and help kick off the parade! All participants receive an ornament and full acess to the hot cocoa bar after the race. The race starts at 4:20 pm in Uptown with proceeds going to the Back Pack program.
After the parade, follow Santa through the streets of town to the gazebo on the courthouse lawn where children can visit with Santa. Bring your best camera to capture the moment! At 5:30, Story telling begins at the new history center.
Shoppers can enjoy listening to carolers while completing their Wish List Punch Card by visiting the participating stores and voting for their favorite decorated window. Those with completed punch cards will be eligible for a shopping spree worth more than $500. Stores will be open until 9.
