Jackson, Missouri (April 25, 2011)-The 2011 Heartland Writers Conference will be held June 3, 4 at the Coach House Inn in Sikeston, Missouri. The conference will begin at 6 pm on Friday evening and conclude with an awards banquet Saturday evening. Snacks Friday evening, Friday lunch and the banquet Saturday evening are included with registration.
Editors and published authors representing a wide range of literary genres will be presenting workshops both days. Editors presenting workshops include Trent C. Butler, a freelance editor from Nashville who served twenty-two years as editor and editorial director for Holman Bible Publishers. Butler will be offering workshops on inspirational/religious writing. Other editors scheduled are Louella Turner with High Hill Press which publishes fiction and nonfiction work; Lynda Burch from Guardian Angel Press, a children's publishing company; and Regina Williams, editor of Storyteller Magazine which publishes short stories and poetry. Jamie Johnson, the poetry editor for Storyteller Magazine will also be speaking.
Other features of this conference are group editor pitch sessions, critique sessions, and the Great Beginnings and Great Successes writing contest.
