Cape Central High School inducted four individuals and one team into the school's Hall of Fame on Sept. 24. The inductees were recognized at halftime at the new Tiger Stadium during the Sept 23 football game with North County, which the Tigers won 44-7. Pictured above, left to right, are Paul Ebaugh, class of 1962, a three-sport athlete for Central, starring in football, basketball and track. A Lou Muegge Award recipient, Ebaugh went on to Southeast Missouri State University and starred in football and track. Steve Williams, class of 1980, played football, basketball and baseball for Central. He was part of the 1980 Class 4 championship basketball team and also helped lead the baseball team to a runner-up finish at state. Also a Lou Muegge Award recipient, Williams went on to play football and baseball at Southeast and later played baseball professionally with the Phillies. He has coached the Central baseball team since 1992. Pat Godwin, class of 1968, played football and baseball for Central. A Lou Muegge Award recipient, Godwin became the quarterback at the University of Missouri-Rolla. Recently the school's 1969 football team (which he quarterbacked) was inducted into the Missouri-Rolla Hall of Fame. Mike Long, Mike Gray, Jim Reynolds and J. Fred Waltz were all members of the 1964 state championship golf team coached by Payne Muir. Bard Womack, class of 1987, starred in football and baseball at Central. After high school he played baseball at the University of Missouri where he was selected to the 1988 Big 8 Conference all-tournament team. Cape Central's Hall of Fame is coordinated by Coach Terry Kitchen.
