March 12-16 was a busy week at Guardian Angel School in Oran. The entire week was National Beta Club Week and March 14 was Pi Day.
On Monday, it was 80's/twin day. Several students came to school dressed as a twin or dressed in 80's clothing. We even had a set of triplets and 2 sets of quadruplets, as well as all the teachers dressed alike. The best 80's girl and boy and the best twin was voted on and was won by Nathaniel Woods (boy 80's), Taylor Hobbs (girl 80's), and Logan Dame & Daley Siebert (twins).
Wednesday was a packed day of events. The entire school voted on posters, made by each grade on Tuesday, of how Guardian Angel School had transformed them into better people. The poster contest was won by the 5th/6th grade classroom. After lunch, the students and teachers gathered to sing the Divine Mercy Chaplet and then proceeded to the gym to have relay competitions. This was followed by the Pi Day celebration, which was overseen by Ms. Ann Whistler, our math teacher. Several parents made pies and sent juice, cups, napkins and forks. The students enjoyed the variety of pies. To finish the day, the students were supervised by teachers in the cleaning of church and picking up trash on the grounds.
On Thursday, the 7th grade students read to the pre-k, first and second grade students. More reading was done on Friday. Fifth and 6th grade students read to the third graders and eighth graders read to the kindergarten and fourth graders.
The National Beta Club promotes the development of student leaders, by striving for excellence in academics, service, character, and leadership.
