A foundation established to support children's education, wellness and development, will fulfill its mission and enhance the lives of children in the Cape Girardeau region by awarding a grant to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri (BBBSEMO). The Great Expectations Foundation has earmarked $3,750 for the local agency.
Larry and Sharon Carrico, owners of Rent One, founded Great Expectations in 2011. This year, the charitable couple encouraged the employees at Rent One stores in each of its eight regions to select charities to invite submit applications for grant awards. The Region 5 Team, which has stores located throughout southeastern Missouri, selected Big Brothers Big Sisters as its charity of choice for 2013.
"We enjoy sharing our blessings with those who need them most," Larry Carrico noted, adding, "Sharon and I have been fortunate to be able to give to many charities, but feel we always get back more than what we give."
"We are very grateful to the Great Expectations Foundation and Rent One for supporting our mission of building trusting and enduring relationships that encourage and support young people," commented Ashley Beggs, Executive Director of BBBSEMO's southern region.
The Cape Girardeau Rent One Store Manager Benji Simmons and Assistant Manager Antoine Luster presented the check to BBBSEMO at its Cape Girardeau office.
