During the season of Lent (February 22 to April 8, 2012) New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson is encouraging those who attend to engage in random acts of kindness as their lenten sacrifice. Each person attending worship on February 26th will receive a rubber wristband with "iCare" embossed upon it. This band will be a reminder to seek to do an act of kindness each and every day. The congregation will also engage in extra mile giving to support such ministries as our Jackson Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry, Water Purification Systems for Haiti, The Hope House and Safe House for Women, and other such caring ministries and programs in the community.
