We have read much about adult Good Samaritans, but now we are nominating one young man in our third-grade Sunday School class. Luke Mirly is 9 years old and he takes it upon himself to clean and straighten up our classroom after class is dismissed. He also helps distribute refreshments at the beginning of class -- always being sure everyone else has something before he takes his own. All of this he does without being asked or reminded. It is so refreshing to see a young person assume such helpful responsibility. Luke is the oldest of four siblings. His mother tells me that she has come to rely on Luke's willing helpfulness at home, too.
