God's Green Acres Association (GGAA) announced the 2013 Horse Show Season dates today. GGAA kicks the season off right with the first show on April 20th. With an earlier start time of 2:00 pm for 2013, we've taken a streamlined approach to the event classes that will accommodate English, Western Pleasure, and Speed Event lovers alike. There are events to fit both amateur riders as well as seasoned riders. And last year was the first year that GGAA offered a gorgeous silver and gold engraved belt buckle for highest points of the season and we are excited to offer that up to the High Point Winner again this year.

As we are entering our 51st season, the shows have become the focal point of our fundraising for the year. The money raised from the first show will go to our first charity event of the year at which GGAA has partnered with Friends of Kids with Cancer to offer 15 children and their families the opportunity to come out on May 11th for a day to ride and just have some good, down-home fun. With the monies we've raised from the shows in the past, GGAA has been able to make improvements to the show arena including new fencing, additional guest seating, and irrigation for those really dry days. We've added hitching posts for tie downs and faster tack changes for our competitors.

Terry New, Grounds Chair for GGAA said, "With all of the improvements we've made thus far and working on our future goals, the ranch will be a far safer and family-friendlier place for our girls and the public. We are very excited about the growth of the ranch and the family-oriented atmosphere." Future goals include new, brighter parking lot lights and additional arena improvements. Every penny the ranch makes from shows, fundraisers goes right back into the ranch from upkeep on equipment to building maintenance, to care for the 30 + horses that live at the ranch.

God's Green Acres Association is a nonprofit, 501©3 organization located in Ware, MO on a 156 acre ranch. We are dedicated to providing an opportunity for girls, ages 12 ½ -18 years old to fulfill their dreams of riding, learning safety and caring for horses. Our goal is to establish a safe, family atmosphere where girls can share their love of horses and develop important skills such as responsibility, independence, teamwork and most importantly building character. For more information on our show dates, events, membership opportunities and more go to www.ggaa.org.
