Local Girl Scouts began taking Girl Scout Cookie pre-orders in January and now Girl Scout Cookie booth sales begin! From Feb. 19 through April 3, Girl Scouts will set up cookie booths outside area merchants featuring nine cookie flavors: Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwich, Shortbread, Thanks-A-Lot, Lemonades, Cranberry Citrus Crisps and, new this year, gluten-free Trios. Cookies are $5 per box, with all proceeds staying local with Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland. To find a Girl Scout Cookie booth near you, please visit girlscoutcookies.org or call (877) 312-4764.

“When you see a Girl Scout at her Girl Scout Cookie booth you are watching a young entrepreneur managing her own business,” said Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland CEO, Anne Soots. “When a girl sells a box of cookies she is learning basic business skills and gaining life skills that are essential to successful leadership. Say ‘Hello’ to her, ask her about her goals, talk to her about her inventory and ask what the plans are for the money her troop earns. Remember, your purchase of Girl Scout Cookies is helping girls learn skills that will last a lifetime.”

Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland will celebrate National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend with a drive-thru Girl Scout Cookie booth on Saturday, Feb. 27, at Town Plaza from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Prairie Farms will give away a 1/2 pint of milk with every box of Girl Scout Cookies purchased.

One hundred percent of the net revenue raised through the Girl Scout Cookie program stays with Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland and its troops. Customers who purchase Girl Scout Cookies are not only getting a delicious treat — they are making an investment in our community.
