CAMERON, Mo.- (January 9, 2014)- On behalf of the Board of Directors for Cameron Mutual Insurance Company, Gayle Cobb as Chairman of the Board is pleased to make the following announcements regarding executive leadership of the company:
The Board of Directors has selected Brad Fowler to serve as Chief Operating Officer. Brad has a long and tenured career of over 28 years with Cameron Mutual, having grown through the leadership ranks in the claims area from Branch Office Manager ultimately to Vice President of Claims, a position he held for numerous years.
Mr. Fowler is an Advance, Missouri native and attended Southeast Missouri State University. He managed Cameron's branch claims operation in Cape Girardeau from 1991-2000 before being promoted to Claims Manager.
His continuing advancement in responsibilities has led him to serve more recently as Senior Vice President and currently as Executive Vice President, where he is a vital member of the Executive team. In this position, he has directly administered such important areas as Information Technology, Research and Development, and Claims. In this capacity, he has also served on various critical committees involving reinsurance, large losses, benefits, and project steering, amongst other duties. Brad's experience in these many essential areas of responsibility has assisted him in effectively preparing for his new duties and continued growth in responsibility.
Brad and his wife, Kim, have two daughters, Samantha and Alicen.
Gary Myers, President and Chief Executive Officer, shared his plans for retirement as President/CEO at year-end 2014, capping nearly 42 years of service to the insurance and reinsurance industries. He will continue as a member of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Cobb elaborated further, saying, "I want to also take this opportunity to extend my personal gratitude and appreciation for Gary's quality of leadership during a time when it was needed. Under his leadership, Cameron Mutual is well positioned to continue as a strong company for our policyholders and a viable market for our agents. I want to personally wish him the best in retirement at year's end."
Additionally, Mr. Cobb said, "I am pleased with Brad's move into expanded and increasing leadership responsibilities. I know that he will lead the company with the same integrity and thoughtfulness to keep us a strong company for all our partners including our policyholders."
Mr. Fowler commented, "It's extremely gratifying to have the Board acknowledge the significant growth this organization has realized over the past few years. The company is well positioned to build upon the solid foundation constructed during Gary's tenure."
He went on to say "The Board conveys a message of stability and confidence in the executive leadership team, the dedicated department managers, and the loyal and talented staff that makes this organization work at all levels each and every day. We are equipped to take on any challenges that lie ahead."
