Financial Peace University (FPU), the 13-week program taught by Dave Ramsey, is being offered again by New McKendree Church in Jackson beginning September 13, 2009. This life-changing program teaches families and individuals how to handle their money through common-sense principles and small group accountability. New McKendree's classes will be held at their South Campus location at 1770 South Hope on Highway 25, across from South Elementary School. The classes will be held on Sundays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Childcare is provided. Contact Betsy or John Kunz, 243-6138, class coordinators, to register for the class or for more information. Online registration is also available at www.daveramsey.com. A free preview will be held on Sunday, August 30, 6:30 p.m. at the South Campus location.
The program consists of 13 life-changing lessons taught by Dave, a nationally syndicated radio host and best-selling author, in a fun and entertaining way. After each lesson the group meets to help each other plan budgets, discuss successes and temptations, and support each other in their journey to beat debt and build wealth. Topics covered include emergency savings, budgeting, relationships and money issues, buying bargains, getting out of debt, investing, insurance, retirement and college planning, real estate and mortgages, and many other financial topics. Each class participant needs a membership kit that costs approximately $100 and includes a study book, audio materials, and all the tools needed for the course. These kits will be ordered by the coordinator upon registration.
"FPU classes are changing lives around the country every day, " says Louis Falzetti, executive vice president of Financial Peace University. "There is something for everyone in this program whether you are barely making ends meet, just trying to plan for retirement, or seeking to build wealth. No matter what your financial situation, you will find FPU to be the best motivational tool available across the nation to help you attain financial peace."
