Only two of Parks and Recreation's more than 35 city-wide sports fields have been dedicated to a specific person or contributor. In recognition for their many contributions to the department, programs, and sports leagues in Cape Girardeau, the Cape Noon Optimist Club received on Sept. 17 the distinction of being the second to receive a field dedication in their honor (field 13).

The Cape Noon Optimist Club has financially supported and sponsored several recreation programs and activities in the past 25+ years to support the youth in our community (baseball, SMASH volleyball, soccer, Breakfast with Santa, Cape Youth Tackle Football, Special Olympics).
