On April 20-21 over 350 women from all areas of the state will gather at First Baptist Church in Jackson for the annual WMU & Women's Ministry meeting, M-Counter (Missions Encounter) 2012. On Friday morning some participants will take part in service projects that include sorting food, cleaning, and straightening at area food banks and thrift shops. Friday afternoon and evening (1:00pm-9:00pm) will feature testimonies by both North American and International missionaries, prayer time, music, and "breakout" sessions on numerous inspiring and educational topics such as "Spunky Women in the Bible" presented by author Brenda Poinsett, "Living Outside the Christian Bubble," Human Trafficking, and "Are You a Woman God Can Use?"

Women across the state having been making denim school bags, which will be collected at this meeting and then delivered to the children of Lesotho (South Africa). Thirty local WMU members met recently at FBCJ to work on this Special Project. In addition to the Special Project for Lesotho bags, The Mississippi River Ministry and Missouri Baptist Children's home will receive hundreds of needed items donated by the women's groups that attend.

All women interested in attending may contact the church office for registration information. Judy Weems serves as registration chairman. General chairmen are Barbara Popp, Lisa Crites, and Diana Prince.
