The Egyptian High School Fine Arts Department will present a Christmas madrigal "The Wife of Bath's Tale" on December 18, 2010, under the direction of Jane Adams, Lee VanAlstine, and Rachel Honey. The madrigal cast includes the King, Queen, Jester, the "Lecherous Knight", the "Hag" and the Royal Court. The cafeteria will be transformed into a medieval "castle hall", decorated in traditional, festive Christmas style, with lots of evergreen, pine cones, ribbons and bows. Guests are greeted as they arrive by the Court Jester and a variety of entertainers. A magical, musical performance awaits the guests. As the story unfolds, the knight, who has broken the Code of Honor by jilting his betrothed at the altar, attempts to save his life by determining what it is that women really want. This year's meal will include traditional Wassail, and "flaming" dessert.
