The Delta R-V School District announces Dr. Mellisa A. Heath to lead the district as new superintendent beginning July 1 upon the retirement of Mr. Nate Crowden. Dr. Heath is a graduate of Chaffee High school and the granddaughter of Mr. Ervin Knotts and Gene Knotts of Chaffee, Missouri.

Dr. Heath received her Bachelor of Science in education degree from Southeast Missouri State University in December of 1991 and her Master of Arts in educational administration with dual certification in 2001 also from Southeast. Dr. Heath graduated in May of 2015 from St. Louis University with a Doctorate of Administration and brings 26 years of teaching and principalship experience.

The district also announces a new elementary principal beginning the 2016-2017 school year, Mr. Kenyon Wright. Mr. Wright is a graduate of Bell City. His academic background includes graduate of Three Rivers Community College with an Associates of Arts, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with his Bachelors of Science, and William Woods University with his Masters of Education in Administration.

Both administrators were announced and spoke on the last day of school during building-level awards assemblies to the students, faculty, present parents and family members. A community-wide Back to School Event is being planned for the evening of August 15 as the district looks forward to leading together and Making a Difference.
