The St. Louis Iron Mountain Railway will be hosting three events on Saturday, April 30, an arts and craft show, antique car show and an open house on the train. The Jackson Art Group and the Iron Mountain Railway Volunteers are co-sponsoring the arts and crafts show which will begin at 9 a.m. at the train depot at the intersection of Highway 61/72 and Highway 25. There will be a very diverse group of artisans and craftsmen participating, all with handmade crafts. There will be several bake sales as well as face painting and balloon animals for the children. Antique cars will be on display throughout the day on Saturday.
The Iron Mountain Railway will host an open house on the train, where visitors are invited to tour the coach cars and engine. The train will remain stationary during the day, but there will be speeder car rides and hand pump car rides offered on the hour and half hour throughout the day. Refreshments will be served to visitors on the train and they may register for a drawing.
