CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Scott R. Clark, a Republican, announced his candidacy today for Cape Girardeau County Recorder of Deeds. Clark is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and holds a masters' degree in public administration and a bachelor's degree in business administration with a major in accounting.
Clark is a supervisor with JC Penney. He currently serves as treasurer for Cape Girardeau County's Republican central committee, and as treasurer for the 27th Republican Senatorial District Committee. He is a member of the board of directors for the Cape Girardeau County Pachyderms. He also serves on the board of directors for the Missouri Pachyderms organization, and is a regional director for the Missouri Pachyderm's Southeast region. He has previously served as an election judge.
"While I enjoy my job immensely I feel a call to public service," Clark says. "My background -- my education and experience -- have well prepared me for this opportunity to serve the residents of Cape Girardeau County as the Recorder of Deeds."
"The challenges of the Recorder's office intrigue me. When I was researching my masters' thesis, I focused on the subject of records management. What better way to take my experiences and put them to use in protecting some of the most important documents of society," he says.
