Maple United Methodist Church congregation invites the Cape Girardeau community and surrounding areas to a Sunday for Celebrating Christmas. The church encourages everyone to "take time out from the hustle and bustle of shopping and baking to relax and share Christmas in an old fashioned way, Sunday, December 11."

The first Christmas celebration will be held Sunday morning at 10:15 in the sanctuary, when the Chancel Choir will perform a Christmas Cantata.

The second celebration will be in the afternoon,from 2 to 4 p.m.. Maple's family and friends large collection of antique and unique nativities will be on display in the fellowship hall. The dulcimer quartet, Joyful Strings, will play traditional Christmas carols throughout the afternoon and cookies and punch will be served. Maple UMC is located on the corner of Cape Rock and Jean Ann Drive. There is no admission fee. All are welcome.
