The Cape Central High School Envirothon Team placed first overall in the Southeast Regional Envirothon competition last month at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center, qualifying the team for the state competition in Jefferson City. The team also placed first in four of the six scoring categories: Forestry, Soils, Current Events, and Oral Presentation. Team members, pictured above, left to right, are Joe Kiefner, Lizzie Nussbaum, Caleb Coots, Caleb Hengst, and Kyle Morton. Envirothon Coach Mark Hahn, said, "The student's hard work really paid dividends at the regional competition, and hopefully their continued preparation will pay off at state competition to be held April 13th in Jefferson City.
