The staff of the Cape Central High School yearbook, Girardot, combined forces with the staff of the campus newspaper, The Tiger, to win the Sweepstakes Trophy for the third straight year at the Regional Southeast Missouri Student Press Association Workshop and Competition held at Southeast Missouri State University in September. The Sweepstakes Trophy is awarded to the school with the highest point total from all categories of competition. The Tiger advisor is Mrs. Pat Kuper and the current Girardot advisor is Cynthia Buerck who replaced former yearbook advisor Patti Whittington.
