Employees and one volunteer of the Caruthersville Missouri Humane Society traveled to Cape Girardeau Petco yesterday, Saturday, April 3rd. With them they brought six adorable animals; 5 puppies and an adult dog.
Sweet Pea, Bubba, Tubby, Brandy, Bruiser, and Sundance (pictured).
The store was busy and not a single incoming customer failed to stop to pet or check out the adorable animals up for adoption. Still, only three were adopted from the group.
Sweet Pea will now be residing with a family in Illinois. She seemed quite happy when the family arrived after their long journal to meet her. Equally as important, the family seemed to be taken with Sweet Pea right away. They all looked quite happy to be going home together.
Bubba was equally as thrilled with the family who chose him to become a part of their bunch. He will now have children to play with and other dogs to experience life. There were many licks and wags to indicate that is was a good decision on everyone's part.
And Bruiser was just too adorable for Wil Halter and his partner Steve to resist. Bruiser looked so much like their fur kid Bailey they couldn't pass up Bruiser's spunky manner and adorable face. Bailey now has a brother, and is thrilled I am told, with her Daddy's decision to enlarge the family.
Unfortunately Tubby, Brandy, and Sundance did not find adoptive families, but the people with Caruthersville Humane Society won't give up. They will continue to care for these animals and this won't be the last adoption drive they will see. There is already talk of another adoption drive, in the same location, very soon.
Present for the April 3rd adoption drive were Erma Page, Administrator; Karol Wilcox, President and cruelty investigator; and volunteer Beverly Alexander.
