In a show of support for the nation's armed forces, students and faculty at Cape Middle School (CMS) participated in "Wear Red to Support Our Troops", part of an effort to collect soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, candy and snacks for our troops. Also included are cards and letters from kindergarten through high school students. Other organizations are involved as well, including USA Veterans, who donated money, flags and Girl Scout cookies. The Marine Corp League Auxiliary, Kiwanis and the Ste. Genevieve VFW Auxiliary 2210 helped defray expenses. CMS receives heartwarming letters, cards, and emails from troops for their kindness, and teachers often read them to their students to show that a small effort on their part can make a big difference in the lives of others. Sixth grade teacher Ms. Diana Valleroy organized the project.
