This past weekend (July12th 2014) CGRG took home a phenomenal win against the Como Derby Dames. Miss Missouri (Erin Fluegge-Woolfe) made a guest appearance, and was given the honor of beginning the bout; blasting the whistle, and starting the Jam.

Queen Cobra scored an impressive seventeen point jam in the first half, taking an early lead. Como fought back scoring 40 points in short order, but CGRG's defenses were unrelenting. If they thought they could make it past Block Widow, they were mistaken... repeatedly. By halftime they ended with a solid lead of ninety-nine to twenty-seven.

Devin Scott entertained derby girls and fans alike, with a keyboard accompanied music medley (Even throwing in a little Disney's Frozen among other fan favorites)

The lead continued into the second half, as CGRG kept up their momentum. It's clear training emphasis on recycling has paid off, as opposing Jammers were swallowed up whole, getting little to no chance to squirm their way through. Como didn't loose heart though, as they continued to fight till the end, finishing the bout with a final score of one hundred ninety-nine to ninety-four. CGRG ends this week with a season record of four-two, in a trend we hope to see continue. Proceeds of the bout went to benefit the Girl Scouts, and a check for four-hundred-fifty dollars from the previous bout was presented to the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri.

The mash up bout featured skaters from several leagues, including the CoMo Derby Dames, St. Louis GateKeepers, West Kentucky Rockin' Rollers, and Iron Range Maidens. It continued the level of intensity of the first bout, with several skaters having already played, going at it again for a second round.

CGRG would like to thank the COMO Derby Dames, as well as other visiting skaters, refs, and officials for a great game, and a wonderful weekend of Derby.
