Dustin Oehl, son of Rodney and Pam Oehl, of Oak Ridge, MO was selected as a delegate to represent Missouri 4-H and University of Missouri Extension at the 2009 national 4-H Congress in Atlanta, GA from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, 2009. The process for this great honor began last fall when 4-H members across the state completed the Missouri 4-H Recognition form and submitted them to their local MU Extension office. A series of application reviews took place as well as interviews at both the region and state level.
On June 2 and 3, judges interviewed 43 candidates for the opportunity to represent Missouri 4-H and MU Extension at National 4-H Congress. On the evening of June 4, a total of 30 delegate and three alternates were announced at the 64th annual Missouri State 4-h Congress. Past 4-H members attending National 4-h Congress ay this experience is the highlight of their 4-h career. The National 4-H Congress experience provides a great opportunity for 4-H members from across the country to come together and learn about community involvement, culture diversity, and service to others.
