The Cape Central High School Marching Tigers Band earned another first place in their class Saturday at the Potosi Bi-State Invitational Band Festival. In addition to their first place finish, the band was awarded the outstanding musical performance caption and visual performance caption in their class.

Following their first performance of the day, the Marching Tigers kept tempo by posting another first place finish in the evening finals, winning the overall competition from a field of 18 schools with the highest score of the day. The Tigers were also awarded the outstanding musical performance and visual performance captions for their finals performance as well. Those wins came after a successful performance at the Washington Band Festival the previous Saturday where the Marching Tigers finished first place in their class as they have in each of the marching festivals they have entered this season.

Dr. Mike Cowan, CHS Principal, said, "Without doubt, our kids, parents, supporters, music faculty members Neil Casey, Billy Keys, Josh LaMar and Dina Casey have worked diligently to build a program whose reputation is simply one of the finest, not only in the area, but in the entire state of Missouri and beyond, and it is a thrill for me to sit in the stands and hear the greater audience from all of the competing bands acknowledge the quality of our band's performance."

The Marching Tigers now begin to prepare for their culminating competition of the season, The Greater St. Louis Marching Band Festival at the Edwards Jones Dome in downtown St. Louis, on October 23.
