Cassie Myers received her doctorate in political science from the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) on August 8, 2015.
The focus of Myers’ dissertation was on American political behavior, specifically the implications of rural and urban politics on electoral outcomes. Her dissertation is entitled “Hometown Influence: The Impact of Geography on Statewide Candidate Emergence and Success.”
Myers is a graduate of Cape Central High School. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Columbia College and her masters of arts degree from UMSL. She is a labor and employee relations specialist with the U.S. Treasury Department in St. Louis.
Myers is the daughter of Chris and Debbie Gross of Cape Girardeau. Myers currently resides in Fairview Heights, Illinois, with her husband, Ed, and stepchildren, Morgan and Hayden.
