BRIDGING AN AFTERNOON OF FUN
Saxony Village Retirement Community to host Bridge Party May 23
The game of bridge has been called elegant. Part science, part math. Part logic and reason. Based on strategy but also reliant human nuance -- and some 25 million Americans regularly play, according to the American Contract Bridge League.
On May 23, some of those players will gather in Cape Girardeau at Saxony Village Retirement Community for a Bridge Party, a free event hosted by Saxony and open to the public.
"The staff and residents are very excited to host this event," said Scott Sprandel, manager of Saxony Village. "It's a great opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of cards, while experiencing the amenities of Saxony Village."
The event will be held in the Saxony Manor common area where hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served. Participants will play "Party Bridge" in groups of four.
Sign-in for the event will begin at 12:45 p.m. and play will begin at 1:30 p.m. Play will last approximately three hours. Guests will have the opportunity to arrive early or stay after the event to tour Saxony Village's amenities, including the fitness center complete with an exercise pool and the upscale dining facilities.
"The upcoming Bridge Party is a great demonstration of the unique lifestyle offered at Saxony Village, bringing together great people, doing great things, " said Sprandel. "Saxony Village is truly about living your retirement dream, each day, and this event really highlights that goal."
