The Barracudas are a summer swim team where kids (typically ages 6 - 18) learn to swim, stay in shape, and have fun! Swimmers are taught the four competitive swimming strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly) by a professional coaching staff with significant experience ranging up to and including NCAA Division 1 and Olympic Trials competition. Upon reaching proficiency, most Barracudas choose to compete in swim meets. Swimming is a wonderful way for kids to improve physical fitness, make new friends, and learn valuable life lessons!

Practices will be offered each weekday at Jackson City Pool (7:00-8:30a) and Cape Central Municipal Pool (11:30a-1:00p). Swimmers may attend practices at the time/location that is most convenient for them. There is no minimum practice attendance requirement - many swimmers miss a day or a week here or there for camps, vacations, etc. That being said, the more often that swimmers can attend practice, the more quickly they improve (and the more their parents get for their money's worth)!

On Saturdays, swimmers may compete in meets - opportunities to cash in on all their hard work and show all that they've learned! Although the swimming skills that the Barracudas learn are geared toward swimming competitively, families may rest assured that meet participation is not required until the swimmer, his/her parent(s), and the coaching staff all agree that it is time to swim in a meet.

Sign-up forms and checks may be submitted through the mail at any time, or simply brought to the first day of practice.

The cost for the summer season is $125/swimmer, with a $10 multiple-swimmer discount available. ($115 for a family's 2nd swimmer, $105 for a family's 3rd swimmer, etc.)

Be a Barracuda and beat the summer heat!!
