Annual Sophomore Pilgrimage to Jefferson City, MO.

The GFWC Scope Club of Cape Girardeau will again sponsor students to the annual Sophomore Pilgrimage on April 9-10 These students are selected by the High School teachers and counselors and must be in the upper fourth of their class scholastically and display leadership and citizenship qualities.

From Oak Ridge R-6 High School:Taylor Bock, daughter of Wayne and Joyce Bock will be attending;Vikhas Rudrappa son of Suresh and Devika Nagara Rudrappa from Central High School will be attending;Ian Parker Roberts ,son of Jackie Neal will represent Jackson HIgh and Rachael Petzoldt, daughter of Earl and Diane Petzoldt will represent Saxony Lutheran High School.

The students will see their state government working and tour the capitol, Supreme Court and Governor's Mansion,also attend a luncheon that all elected state official attend and explain the duties of their office.

The Missouri General Federation of Women's Clubs has sponsored this state wide tour since 1934.The local club has sent students for the past 34 years with the financial help from other civic clubs and individuals in the community.
