The evening service, beginning at 6:00 p.m., will be featuring Gospel music and worship, followed by a time of food and fellowship in the church dining hall. The community is cordially invited to be a part of this celebration.
The First Pentecostal Church of Cape Girardeau has been a vital part of the Cape Girardeau area since its inception, in the year 1919. The church was constructed at its present location at 3054 Lexington Avenue in 1994 under the leadership of Pastor John Gourley. The first service was held at the current location on September 21st, 1994.
The congregation has grown under the direction of Pastor Faire and his wife Sheila. She has complimented her husband's ministry with her superb musical talents.
Under their leadership, the church has expanded their campus with the purchase of the adjacent Kent Street property and has since completed an extensive excavation and parking lot expansion in preparation for the anticipated addition of a new sanctuary and additional education facilities.
Pastor Faire envisions great future growth for the First Pentecostal Church of Cape as they plan for the 100th anniversary of the church in 2019.
It is the sincere desire of the Faires that the name of Jesus will be lifted up throughout this Sunday of anniversary services. They extend a warm welcome to all.
