A Cure for Cape Cancer Gala Undergoing Changes

Sauvez La Date - August 28, 2010. Planning is currently underway for this year's American Cancer Society's Annual A Cure for Cape Cancer Gala. The Gala Committee is dedicated to raising funds for the mission of the American Cancer Society while hosting an event that everyone's guaranteed to have a good time! Additionally, the Committee will bring new twists to this year's event no one will want to miss. All are encouraged to note Saturday, August 28 in their calendars.

Brandi Hamm, 2010 Gala committee Event Chair and Kimberly Vance Mothershead, Event Co-Chair, working with Society Staff Partner, Danielle McGuire, and the 2010 Gala Committee made the choice to reposition the event on the community calendar. The event will be held on Saturday, August 28. Moving the event from the spring allows the committee the time to generate additional excitement, attract more attendees and secure especially unique auction items.

The Society will host this year's Gala at The Venue, Cape Girardeau's newest and classiest event center. The Venue offers ample space for all of the event's activities and a relaxed atmosphere for enjoying conversation with many of the community's most dedicated philanthropists.

The evening will feature live entertainment by The Mike Renick Band, gourmet food, live and silent auctions, dancing, revenue enhancer games, and the opportunity to honor & remember those who have battled cancer.
