What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?

I feel I am the most qualified because of my previous experience. I have served on the board for six years. I held the office of vice president the majority of that time. Also, my son attends Altenburg Public School, so I can see how the board's decisions directly affect the students.

What do you see as the opportunities and challenges in the district?

Being a small district creates both challenges and opportunities. Small districts can be affected more by state and federal budget cuts. However, our size allows us to adapt more quickly. Our small district allows countless opportunities for individual student growth through teacher interaction.

How will you communicate your work to your constituents?

I shop and eat at the local businesses in our community on a regular basis. I also work in the Frohna/Altenburg area. This provides many opportunities to communicate with district residents.

What are the factors on which you will base your decisions as a school board member?

First and foremost, my decisions are based on what is best for the kids in our district. Not only is my son at the school but so are many of my family and friends' children. I see how past decisions have enhanced the school and will use that as a factor in my current decision making. This will allow greater opportunities for the future of our district.
